Company Profile
Test Rite Retail Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Test Rite Retail”) was established in 1995 and has been deeply rooted in Taiwan’s home improvement market for over 30 years. It has transformed from a large-scale DIY home improvement center into a one-stop home services platform integrating large-format stores, community stores, online shopping, shopping malls, and professional renovation and installation teams. Driven by three major structural trends—aging homes, an aging population, and the growing prevalence of smaller homes—demand for long-term home repair and maintenance services has gradually increased.
Operational Advantages
Test Rite Retail’s operational advantages lie in integrating professional consultation, on-site measurement, planning, installation, and construction into its service chain, establishing a business model that is difficult for general retailers and pure e-commerce businesses to replicate. As of October 2026, Test Rite Retail had 68+1 operating locations across Taiwan, comprising 29 large-format stores, 39 community stores, and one large shopping mall. The number of members has surpassed 10 million, with an average of approximately 1.07 members per household. This high household penetration rate has established a large existing customer base and serves as an important source of business for subsequent renovation, installation, and in-home services.
According to statistics from the Ministry of the Interior, over 80% of residential properties in Taiwan are more than 15 years old, while 58.49% are more than 30 years old. Demand for plumbing and electrical wiring upgrades, kitchen and bathroom renovations, waterproofing, and home safety improvements continues to increase. Research firm Deep Market Insights also estimates that Taiwan’s home improvement market was valued at approximately US$8.84 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach US$13.73 billion by 2034, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of approximately 4.96% from 2026 to 2034, indicating long-term growth potential in the residential renovation market.
In addition, the growing prevalence of smaller homes, single-person households, and an aging population has extended consumer demand from purchasing products to purchasing solutions. Currently, people aged 65 and above account for more than 20% of Taiwan’s population, and the number of single-person households exceeds 3.99 million. The increase in small-sized homes has also driven demand for storage solutions, space efficiency, partial renovations, and barrier-free modifications. These households are generally unable to carry out construction work themselves and rely heavily on in-home measurement, installation, and partial repairs. This also forms the market foundation for Test Rite Retail’s launch of “Test Rite Retail Butler” in 2019, an industry-first initiative. Currently, each Test Rite Retail butler generates average annual revenue of approximately NT$6 million, while each community store generates average annual revenue of approximately NT$30 million.
In view of this, Test Rite Retail has signed contracts with nearly 300 partner contractor teams and established three professional training centers in northern, central, and southern Taiwan, providing more than 2,400 hours of training to 500 participants annually. It currently provides installation services to more than 130,000 households each year, with customer satisfaction consistently maintained at 8.7 out of 9. Compared with platforms such as momo and PChome that primarily focus on product transactions, its comprehensive service capabilities, from sales and measurement to construction, help increase average transaction value and customer retention.
In addition, Test Rite Retail continuously explores ways to expand beyond its existing range of professional home repair products by offering more private-label home products that promote quality of life and health. Examples include the Smart Wash bidet seat and under-sink water purifiers, which have been flagship products for years, as well as the newly launched anti-smog window screens this year, promoted with the message “Put a mask on your home.” In recent years, observing changes in Taiwan’s environment, climate, and lifestyles, along with incorporating genuine consumer feedback, has driven Test Rite Retail to continuously expand its diverse private-label product offerings and has become a key factor in its profitability.
Future Outlook
Test Rite Retail Chairman Tony Ho stated that Test Rite Retail aims to do more than simply sell products; it aims to bring services into every household. Going forward, it will expand its presence in local communities by opening 6 to 8 new community stores annually, expand its in-home butler services, and introduce AI Agents to accelerate staff training and service scheduling. It will also evaluate opportunities for upstream and downstream strategic partnerships, equity investments in companies in other industries, and mergers and acquisitions. In addition, it will continue to assess overseas expansion opportunities, with the aim of accelerating the expansion of its operating scale in parallel.
